Anti-static Raised Floor

An anti-static raised floor is a raised floor finished with a material that helps control static electricity. It is used in rooms with electronic equipment, such as server rooms, control rooms, UPS rooms and data centres. ANBS (Asia Net Building Services Co., Ltd.), which owns the RHINO trademark in Thailand and is an investment partner in the RHINO factory, supplies and installs raised floors with factory-applied anti-static finishes.
Why control static in equipment rooms
Walking and moving things across a floor can generate static charge. Rooms with servers or control equipment therefore usually specify a floor finish that reduces or discharges the charge, instead of ordinary carpet or floor coverings. The detailed requirements (such as the type of finish and the earthing method) should be set by the project engineer.
Anti-static finishes available
- Anti-static HPL factory-applied high-pressure laminate, widely used in server rooms, control rooms and UPS rooms
- Conductive ESD vinyl for areas where the project specification calls for a conductive finish
Both finishes can be used on RhinoROC panels, including airflow panels. See colour codes and the manufacturers' data sheets under floor coverings. The electrical values of each finish are given in the manufacturer's data sheet, which our team can provide.
Choosing a panel by load
The anti-static property comes from the finish; the load capacity depends on the panel grade. Reference values:
| System / grade | Load rating (per the technical data on this website) |
|---|---|
| RhinoROC ROC100 | Uniform load 14 kN/m² |
| RhinoROC ROC200 | Uniform load 17 kN/m² |
| RhinoROC ROC300 | Uniform load 19 kN/m² |
| RhinoEU EU1000 (calcium sulphate) | Concentrated load 4.5 kN, uniform load 12 kN/m², ultimate load 13.5 kN |
See how to choose a grade in how much load a raised floor can take, or use the product selector (it shows a suggested model only, with no prices).
Fire test results
- RhinoROC: 130-minute fire-resistance rating to Modified ASTM E119-20 (Intertek), plus tests to ASTM E84 and ASTM E136
- RhinoEU: tested to BS 476
Where it is used
- Server rooms and data centres. Read more in raised floors for data centres.
- Control rooms and UPS rooms
- Other electronic equipment rooms where the project requires static control

Advice and quotations
Send us the room type, floor area (m²) and the project's floor finish specification (if any). We will recommend the finish and panel grade and send a quotation per square metre. Read about the price factors in our raised floor price guide or send the quote form.
Frequently asked questions
How is an anti-static raised floor different from a standard raised floor?
The panel structure and pedestals are the same; the difference is the finish. An anti-static raised floor has a factory-applied anti-static HPL or conductive (ESD) vinyl finish, instead of bare panels with carpet laid on site.
Should I choose anti-static HPL or conductive ESD vinyl?
Anti-static HPL is widely used in server rooms, control rooms and UPS rooms. Conductive ESD vinyl is used when the project specification calls for a conductive finish. Send us the specification and we will help review it.
What is the electrical resistance of an anti-static raised floor?
It varies with the finish and the manufacturer's product. We do not state figures on this page, but we can send the data sheet for the chosen finish so you can check it against the project specification.
How much load can an anti-static raised floor take?
It depends on the panel grade. RhinoROC ROC100, ROC200 and ROC300 carry uniform loads of 14, 17 and 19 kN/m². RhinoEU EU1000 has a concentrated load of 4.5 kN, a uniform load of 12 kN/m² and an ultimate load of 13.5 kN.
