Raised Floor for Data Centres and Server Rooms in Thailand

Most data centres and server rooms in Thailand are built on a raised floor. The void beneath carries cable trays and power and, in many rooms, delivers cooling air to the racks. ANBS, the RHINO Access Floors representative in Thailand since 1997, supplies and installs data centre raised floors, with references including the PTT and IRPC data centres.
Why data centres use a raised floor
- Power and data run under the floor, keeping aisles clear.
- Cooling air can be supplied through airflow panels in front of the racks.
- Any panel lifts out, so cabling changes without disturbing the room.
- The floor is level over an uneven slab, which matters for rack rows.
Choosing panels for a data centre
Most data halls use cement-filled steel panels such as RhinoROC® on a stringer grid, in a grade matched to the racks and equipment that will sit on the floor. Where very open airflow is needed, RhinoAlutec® aluminium panels are an option. ANBS recommends a grade after reviewing the equipment list; see how to choose a raised floor.
Anti-static and conductive finishes
Server rooms normally use an anti-static HPL or conductive vinyl finish, with the floor system bonded to earth, to reduce static that can disturb electronics. The finish is chosen with the room's earthing design.
Airflow panels and cooling
When the underfloor void is used as a supply plenum, airflow panels go in front of the rack intakes and openings elsewhere are sealed. Cable grommets and airflow-control accessories help keep cold air where it is needed. See accessories.
Floor height
There is no single right height. It depends on the cable trays, power and pipework under the floor and whether the void supplies cooling air, as well as the ceiling height, doors and ramps. We measure on site and recommend a height that suits all three.
Working in live server rooms
Many projects extend or replace floors in rooms that cannot shut down. We plan the work in sections with the IT team, lift and relay panels area by area, and keep running equipment undisturbed.

Frequently asked questions
What raised floor is best for a data centre?
Most data centres use cement-filled steel panels such as RhinoROC on a stringer grid, with an anti-static or conductive finish and airflow panels in front of the racks. RhinoAlutec aluminium panels suit rooms that need very open airflow.
How high should a data centre raised floor be?
It depends on the cable trays, power and pipework under the floor, whether the void supplies cooling air, and the ceiling height, doors and ramps. ANBS measures on site and recommends a height.
Can a raised floor be installed in a live data centre?
Yes. ANBS plans the work in sections with the IT team so running equipment is not disturbed.
